Santa Barbara to Santa Cruz - Day 2 on CA 1

Big Sur:

After leaving Cambria we headed north towards Big Sur. The best part about this stretch is that there are a ton of vista points and turnouts so you can stop whenever you want and get out, stretch you legs, and take in the gorgeous views. We decided that we would stop whenever we could but after a few hours realized just how slow we were actually going because we kept stopping so we limited how many times we stopped but really, you could spend an entire day driving just this stretch alone!

 Santa Cruz Boardwalk:

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is every kid's heaven besides for disneyland of course, I am convinced! They had everything there and the air smelled like funnel cake, ice cream, and salty beachy air, it screams summer vacation. After driving in the car for so many hours Nathan and I weren't up for  any rides but we each got a soft-serve vanilla cone (my favorite soft serve flavor, boring I know!) and walked through the entire thing. We decided on our way out to play one of those games where you through the sand filled sack ad blocks and try to know them down. Nathan was so close, but the final block barely budged! Oh well, it was still fun though!
