Strawberries and lemonade are two of my all time favorite sweets. I remember the first time I tried Strawberry Lemonade was at Chili's Grill & Bar Restaurant and after the first sip I was hooked. There is nothing more refreshing than this combo. But sparkling lemonade makes it even more fun. The other day I was at the grocery store and saw this zero calorie sparkling lemonade and instantly had an idea of using it to make a lighter summer cocktail. This is the perfect light and refreshing drink to sip on outside by the pool or at a summer picnic or backyard bbq.

What You'll Need:

-  6 fresh strawberries, rinsed and diced
- 1 strawberry for garnish
- 2 basil leaves, rinsed and ribboned
- Basil leaves for garnish
- Sparkiling lemonade, I used Lorina's Zero Calorie Sparkiling Lemonade
- White rum, I used Caliche Puerto Rican Rum
- 2 pinches of sugar
- Ice

Steps:

In a cocktail shaker or mason jar, combine diced strawberries and 1 shot glass of white rum. Secure lid and shake.

Next add sparkling lemonade to desired amount. I used a little over 1 cup. Add a few ice cubes and secure lid. Shake to mix well.

Add basil and 2 pinches of sugar. If you are using a sweeter lemonade, omit the sugar, unless you want it sweeter.

The color of the drink should be taking on the pink from the berries. Strain into glass. Garnish with basil leaves and a strawberry.
