For anyone who lives in Southern California, you understand me when I say that the heat has been sticking around this year. September is typically still pretty warm but this year multi-day heat advisories have been issued. I was lucky enough to be able to go back home this past week and visit my family, and soak up the warm weather. It was heaven!

One evening we decided last minute to go watch the sunset because it was cooler out and there was thunderstorms around us. By cool, I mean that the temperature dropped from the high 90's to the high 80's, which is still warm but much more bearable. It was the heat wave's version of a typical fall evening in San Diego, warm days and chilly nights.

I love fall because of that shift from a nice warm day to the crisp chill of night. Throughout the years of living in SD I have learned that the best transition piece is a warm scarf. It warms you up just enough in those early fall evenings so that you can still wear your shorts or skirts and short sleeved shirts without needing to change into pants or long sleeves.

I just bought this scarf from Forever 21 and it is super soft and I love the colors because you can wear it with so many different colors and outfits. Unfortunately due to the thunderstorms there wasn't much of a sunset but we still had fun snacking on cheese and crackers and enjoying the cooler temps.
