I am going to start recording all hikes in the Bay Area in a helpful guide, so that if you guys are looking to go on a hike in the area, hopefully one of the hikes here will be helpful. First one to the guide are the trails out of Stinson Beach in Mount Talampais State Park near Muir Woods.

Trailhead: Next to the Stinson Beach Fire Station (32 Belvedere Ave, Stinson Beach, CA 94970)

Parking: Street, limited, so get there early!

Route: Start on Matt Davis Trail and hike to Pantoll Ranger Station & Campground. Transfer to the Steep Ravine Trail. Merge onto Dipsea Trail and continue until you hit the Panoramic Highway. Walk along road for a short distance back to your car.

Distance: About 9 miles total.

Difficulty: It is a pretty steep trail especially at the beginning but levels out. Pantoll Ranger Station & Campground is roughly halfway and is a great place for a rest and have lunch or a snack at a picnic table.

Sun/Shade: Mixture of both.
