Layering is new to me, but increasingly necessary. Since moving to San Francisco I have struggled with juggling the city's micro-climates and overall cooler temps than San Diego. Just as everyone says, layering is key so that you can easily adjust from morning to night or from neighborhood to neighborhood. As the temperature continues to cool, I have found a few pieces in my closet that manage to keep me warm without feeling bulky or bundled up.

I recently bought a thin cashmere sweater and am in love because it is warm and can easily be worn with a long sleeve shirt underneath or by itself, dresses up for work, and looks great with jeans. I added this faux-suede draped vest and paired black heeled booties to dress up a basic sweater jean combo.
