Over the weekend, I went to Tilden Park in Berkeley. I don't know how I had missed this gem so close to the city before but I am so glad I found it because it is pretty big and there are lots of trails, picnic tables, and even a steam train? (I heard it but couldn't see it so next time I am going to figure this out) For starters the park is beautiful and the views are spectacular. You can see all of Oakland, the Bay Bridge, San Francisco, The Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatrez, and of course the Bay itself.

Although it was cold and a bit windy, getting out in nature was a perfect way to spend a few hours in the afternoon especially since I have been trying to fight off a nasty sinus infection all week. Also, it was a great way to jump start one of my goals for 2016, to explore more of Northern California.
