Fresh Squeezed Grapefruit Juice

Fresh Squeezed Grapefruit Juice

I have to disclose that I am not a grapefruit person. I long to be the person who eats a grapefruit for breakfast but I cannot do it. I have tried sugar and salt and still eating a grapefruit is not my thing. Which is weird because I had grapefruit juice at a restaurant a few months ago for the first time (they were out of orange juice) and was shocked...it was good!

The next week I though ooh maybe now I can eat a grapefruit! This quest doesn't want to die you see. So when I was at the grocery store I picked up a grapefruit again. Convinced that this was it, I was converted, i was going to love this grapefruit, I took a bite and my mouth was repulsed. All hopes crushed.

I still can't figure out whats so different about drinking the juice as opposed to the fruit but for whatever reason it works for me. I'm weird, get over it.  Anyways, I wanted to share with you my recipe for grapefruit juice that will make your lips pucker but in a good way ;)

What You'll Need:

4 smaller grapefruits
2 teaspoons brown sugar or 1/2 tsp Truvia Brown Sugar Blend

Juice grapefruits by hand squeezing some of the pulp into the pitcher. This adds more fiber which is always a good thing.

Mix in your brown sugar and stir until dissolved.

Add ice and stir until chilled.

Serve between two glasses. You can easily double this recipe as many times as you need.

*If I am making this for guests I like to garnish each glass by coating the rim in sugar and adding a sprig of mint to each glass.

  1. this looks so yummy!

    1. Even if I didn't like it, I think I would still make grapefruit juice just because I love the pretty pink color haha, Is that crazy?

  2. I'm going to have to try this. I hateee grapefruit. I've tried time & time again to like it because of the health benefits. Maybe drinking it will be less bad? Sounds crazy, but if you say so, haha ♡

    1. I hate it too but for whatever reason drinking the juice isn't nearly as rough and its pretty good, I hope it works for you too! Let me know <3

  3. Thank you for sharing your recipe. Fresh juices are more healthy and they are the best. And so easy to make.
    Have a wonderful Wednesday!
