One of my favorite things about San Francisco is that there are so many amazing day trips close by. Over the weekend Nathan and I went to Tiburon which is situated across the bay from the city and Sausalito. In many ways it is like Sausalito's forgotten sibling since it doesn't get nearly the same attention but is actually pretty similar.

It was unusually sunny and such a nice day and I thought it might be fun to do black and white photography. We packed a picnic lunch and ate the Richardson Bay Audubon Center & Sanctuary which had the most breathtaking views of the city and the cutest little beach. I wish I could live in the hose there, it would be so cool (second photo)!

Downtown Tiburon has lots of little shops and many are in historical building like old houseboats. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from too. From Tiburon you can take the ferry to Angel Island, and though we missed the last ferry we definitely plan on coming back so that we can head over to Angel Island.

You can get to Tiburon by ferry from San Francisco or by driving. It's less than an hour by car and on a clear day, the perfect day trip to get out of the city, get some fresh air, and catch breathtaking views of Oakland, the Bay Bridge, San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Sausalito.

What did you do over the weekend? :)
