NSA Tropical Green Smoothie Recipe

NSA Tropical Green Smoothie Recipe
I'm kind of obsessed with Jamba Juice. When I am craving something sweet at work I always find myself walking right towards Jamba and end up ordering a smoothie or a juice or their apple cinnamon pretzels (I love them warmed up!). The problem though is that their smoothies are full of added sugar from all the juice, yogurt, and sherbet that they add and in the end aren't quite as healthy for you as you think.

It is so much better to eat your fruits and veggies since you get the fiber as well as the vitamins and antioxidants but drinking them is fun and much easier when you are on the go. To try and shave off some of the sugar I eat as well as save a few dollars each week I have started to make my own smoothies even the green ones. In order to cut back on the sugar I use water instead of juice, a fresh banana for creaminess that frozen yogurt or sherbet would add and make sure to use frozen fruit that has not been sweetened (watch out for frozen raspberries at the store- most brands have added a sweetener!)
