Raspberry Picking in Utah

I was in Utah over the weekend with my parents visiting my grandparents. We stayed in Cedar City which is the base of the mountains making up Brian Head Ski Resort, so you can imagine it is beautiful. It took a while to drive there but we stopped a few times and hit some traffic near Las Vegas so when we finally arrived the sun was getting ready to set but it was picture perfect.

We were going to have some free time on our trip and with the fall harvest season here I figured we could pick apples or another fall fruit. Because of the climate, they don't grow many apples in Cedar City but they do grow berries. Shoal Creek Berries is in a little town west of Cedar City and about 45 minutes from Saint George or Cedar City.

Pastel Vibes Pastel Vibes

Darrel and Karen live on and run Shoal Creek and are incredibly nice and friendly. They have the most adorable dog, a gentle giant Mastiff-Great Dane mix and the flowers around the house make me wish I could have my patio be a flower jungle. I love that they don't use pesticides or herbicides too.

There were cute chickens running around the farm and the weather was perfect. The sky was so blue it looked like we boosted the saturation in the photos. The raspberries that we picked are some of the best berries I have had and although I have already eaten quite a few I am looking forward to baking with them. Visiting a local farm is a great way to meet and talk with locals and do something less touristy. You also get the best souvenirs- fresh fruit or veggies to take home!

I wore an accordion pleated skirt from Express that I got last year but is similar to Ted Baker's Colour By Numbers floral skirt (linked below along with some other similar styles) paired with a comfy AG Adriano Goldschmied tee knotted at the waistline.
